Goodbye, Sweetie

"Hello sweetie"

I always say it, every meeting

Every single happy greeting

As long as my hearts keep beating

Always, always, still repeating

I loved you so, we had no fears

To the end, our path did veer.

Tried not to shed a single tear

As you traveled through the years.

Now then, we must not pretend

That there will never be an end

For now I have my hand to lend

We will not break, but we will bend

It's now time to stop repeating

This is not a happy greeting

Love, we cannot keep on meeting

It's time to say it, stop your pleading,

"Goodbye, Sweetie"
