5:24 am
You watch the night leave
And the day slowly creep in
Minutes passing like seconds
The days finally have meaning
Monday to Saturday
Your routine is strong.
Your eyes bright as ever
Your soul burning  its passionate fire
Your stomach is  full and plentiful
Your hands still as stone,
But in a blink of an eye
You’re thinking of ways
To occupy your time.
You take up reading but the words start to blend,
You try dancing but you have
Two left feet.
You’ve memorized
Song lyrics
to pass the time.
You let your mind wonder to
Places you’ve memorized,
Dances you’ve learned to hate,
Books you’ve read over and over again.
Your hands shaky as paper in the wind
Your stomach begging for pleasure.
Your soul gone,
Your eyes weak,
As you watch the day become night
Monday turns into Saturday.
Because before you realize
it’s 5:24 am;
