May 2020
Today is upstream and I shiver in your wake
We're something groundbreaking, another earthquake
But what about groundfixing
Be the cement to my loose soil
I'll fall on bloodied knees to your concrete smiles

Yesterday was downstream
The taste of summer beguiles
We shimmer in the reflection of flames
We dance around what we need to say
But my heart remains contained
Run your hands through my roots
And plant me somewhere soon
