Summer comes and goes
Year after year
Until the leaves finish growing
And you take it so slow
By the time you recognize
The happy memories become lies
And time flies by

Summer wind
Summer rain
Some are fun
Some are a drain
The friends you meet
Are forever
Even through thick and thin
You stick together

Then you see
The definition
Of the fun you had
But your forced to leave
She keeps going
And you’re trapped in the past
Summer couldn’t last

You tried to be more
You tried to score
But your awkward feelings
Kept you from walking through that door
And soon enough
You lost her love
And now that it’s the future
Isn’t that tough

Unconditional
Yet I can’t see you anymore
I don’t get why
Maybe it’s my fault
Maybe it’s yours
I just wish the summer could’ve been longer
I just wish I could walk by your side
With the childhood
Wonder in your eyes

I may be trapped
In the past
Yet I have my passions
My sentence won’t last
And when I brake the mold
Prepare yourself
Because summer is every year
And I’m told
I will ring your doorbell
Once I’m ready
To take the step

Summer never ends
It’s just how you handle change
That makes it ascend
Summer never ends
As long as you have
The ones that you spent
