nothing like the ocean wind
on your wet tears

the course of the ocean
to drown out your fears

like the taming of nature
to dense concrete piers

like this moment you'll remember
for so many years

speaking thinking hoping
that someone just hears

yet the present unfolds
and the future nears

just along for the ride
people, places, careers

keep letting go, breath in, breath out
til thoughts cease and the mind clears

nothing like the ocean wind
drying your tears
written on the pier in san francisco, looking at a beautiful bridge that embarrassingly moved me to tears. i would later realize this was not the golden gate bridge but just a random, probably unremarkable bridge.
