I know you smile for a brighter day
Send a smile to me
I'll be on my way
Under an umbrella I can brave the rain
I enter my apartment to a parrot that talks
A sailor docks his ship as I stare from the window
Above a cobblestone road swept by puddles
As the greyness empties
The skywalk regains daylight
In the station a conductor gallavants
Under the halo of a street lamp
Tending to company
You play your role
By tending to company too
Keeping them busy with stories
Tending to the cats at night
I have no regret in saying that your smile
Makes the lamplight fail in compare
How long must I wait in the rain
