The maiden of the pumpkin patch,
Glowing softly in her home,
The sky above her, thatch,
And pumpkins below her, throne,

A bright robe of autumn leaves,
Sparkling with the morning's drops of dew,
All around her, protective trees,
Seeming so many, yet, so few,

Her heady scent of earth,
So ancient and divine,
Solemn, still diverse,
My lady of autumn, so wild, yet refined
