Bare

My soul is sitting on display

Soon to be covered with dust

My heart is waiting patiently

Soon to be covered with rust

It will acquire a patina

From the tears I've cried in your honor

The display will be touched by many

Careless passersby will break off small pieces

Soon I'll be left with nothing

I'll be completely bare.
