Failure grips you like wolves on the neck
Yet I am the lone of the pack,
But missing is elation - I know how
To avoid falling victim to wreck.
Pen is mightier than performance, you lack
The ability to withhold or subdue
Affection, not to mention the ache for attention -
How you wish I could go back.
Nothing about you is hard to construe,
Talent versus pretension; the invention’s
Not new.
