Have you ever seen the rain
Fall upon a river in a forest
Dark and deep
Passing through the backbone
Of civilization like a backdoor
To your street address
It longs to touch your skin
Simply looking through a window
Like sunshine breaking through grey
Pitter patter it falls
On a shattered heart of glass
Have you ever seen the rain
Or cold snow on window
And how many lies it leaves behind
Have you ever seen the rain
Or the true light
I often find your back to the door
Empty cigarettes smoked
Wilting in the fire
Broken dreams cannot stay
A flying paper plane
That caresses the lamposts on cobble ****** road
Can still fly once again
Let us cover each other in linen
Till dusk hides the sunset
And foggy climes cover the ground
From dusk till dawn
Have you ever seen the rain
At night
You will find me drenched
Waiting for you everyday
