You wake up alone
You sleep alone
And you realize
That everyone you sleepwith
Is fleeting
But that doesn’t seem to stop you
You’re on a quest to find connection
In all the wrong places
And as suns rise and sunsets
You learn to feel empty

Never ask about a next time
You know that’ll never happen
And when the stars realign
You realize that the person you wake up next to you
Has the intention of a no strings attached relationship
You reluctantly
Hop into bed with them
Only to find yourself
On the couch
When all is said and done
You feel no connection
Despite stating the contrary
You were betrayed by situational honesty
