You're Gone Again
You're gone again -
what should I expect?
The day breaks
& the flowers
are frozen
like enamel.
The morning shrug
of sun eats
my resolve entirely.
But what do I expect?
Your life is other steps
& I'm sentimental
if I think otherwise.
What do I need
from you?
I'll step back -
unsustained,
unfulfilled,
but patient.
