I went to a town the other night,
Alone and barely afraid,
Never seen these sights before,
But I'm watching these trucks sweep me by.

I waited till midnight to buy myself a bed.
I swear this body isn't being sold,
To the man under the stairs.

Oh, I cried to the lord, yes I did.
I don't believe in him but-
I was scared,
What do you do when you're scared?

These streetlights light my feet,
Less often do I feel so **** free.

Motel 6 is now my home, for now.
Forevermore, I'm gone from warm,
To every rock being my bone,
Goodnight to the disheartening tone.

These streetlights light my feet,
Less often do I feel so **** free.
