i went to the beach a few summers ago
i saw the ocean for the very first time

and i remember feeling a sense
of adventure i had never
experienced before

and i threw up my arms
and hugged the sea

i then turned
and saw a boy
around my age
and he smiled at me
because he knew

the sea hugged me back
