Release your hold from me
Turn me loose and let me fly
Over hilltops green
I'll soar with wings on High
The world below me
Is a picture frame
While I'm in a place
Where everyone knows my name

I have a home
On the other side of the skyline
Saying Goodbye
To a life I never knew
Birds like me are meant to fly
Towards a place
That's much bigger than I
Just on the other side
Of the skyline
There's a world I've never seen
With smiling faces
The grass is always green
On the other side

My eyes that look like yours
Are two great mirrors
To turn the pages
And open doors
May there always be wind in your trees
And the stars to light your way
I hope there's a breeze in your sails
With the smell of a bright new day
I can't tell you anything
That you don't already know
I have a home in the sky
And the bible tells you so

I have a home
On the other side of the skyline
Saying Goodbye
To a life I never knew
Birds like me are meant to fly
Towards a place
That's much bigger than I
Just on the other side
Of the skyline
There's a world I've never seen
With smiling faces
The grass is always green
On the other side
