You and I.

Pause, and remember when we were so close
that I could feel
your laughter by my side like ripples
and we could talk about the wind that
we both felt.

Now you
and I
we live apart my friend.
I can’t see your
old eyes when we speak,
or feel you near me when we walk.

And yet we’re still there
I drink some wine and think of you
maybe you have tried this wine in your city,
or maybe you tried it with me.

We have shared a lifetime together you and I
it will keep us together for
many more years, I know.
I carry you with me wherever I go
