After a while you are not more
than a shadow that holds a cigarette
between your fingers or maybe
some lipsticks that pronounce
incoherent, broken, disjointed words
near the smoke by the ashtray
and you realize that you have
your heart full of nicotine
and you want to leave it
with the cigarette butts.
