May 2013
you are a night picker
scavenging through my heart
grabbing anything to hold

you fiend off my wishes
and take away my breath:
spend hours trying to find
the whollest piece

then you take it.

and I watch closely, trying to see
how you can do it
without feeling a thing

because you leave me empty
a place of nothingness-
once filled with little treasures
now ignored

you walk away,
as if you do this to everyone
and I wouldn't be surprised
you selfish, greedy night picker.
