I remember how I found you
In a cold area all alone
Longing for your voice to be heard.
I picked you up and brushed you off
And went on to show you to the world.
Many people were unappreciative
While others were quite glad,
As they saw the voice of reason
And the talent that you had.
I remember how I had you to myself
You were a great idea,
And a greater friend.
How I wanted to put you on a shelf,
And protect you until the end.
I wanted to show you to everyone,
Let them hear what you had to say.
Many people brushed it off
But you were the reason
Some people were still alive today.
We went on to share a message
Of hope through good
And bad times ahead.
Our story moved through those in need
And even got others out of their bed.
You are my friend
And I'm glad I found
What other people lost
Or could not seem to find.
I cherish the bond we have
And depart with the life we left behind.
