Pipe makes no sound,
The girls weep at the passing of a friend,
An eternal lament.
The windows all dusty,
Theres a darkness inside.
The cracks reveal the sins of friends taken for a ride.
The mother kneels on the porch and prays for the rain.
Her son a sailor lost his life today.
Ragged and hungry,
The dogs start to bark,
One looking for a corner,
A place to die in the dark.
