I rock myself to sleep
Counting the stars that are set in the sky
They're my night light
Never outgrow them

I whisper a silent wish
Hoping that one of the millions
Of little twinkling dots
Will save me from myself
So that I won't self-destruct

I throw everything up to them
Praying that a little angel
Will come and hear my silent cries
Guide me to all the desperately needed answers

I reach up to catch a shooting star
Burned a hole through my hand
Did I learn my lesson.. Yes.
Will I try to:
Capture that shooting star again,
That lone tear.
Yes.

They're my night light
Of little twinkling dots
Will come and hear my silent cries
Capture that shooting star again.
