May 2013
talk to me as though i was yours
ecstatic to be yours
always and forever... yours
just south of the moonlit lake
take me
to all the places you've described
...in a dream

i noticed the gleam in your eye
when you spoke of how you left
...and it was tainted
you let synthetic fuels burn your fire
instead of the natural causes
of your will and strength

yet...
i feel the old you
still encased
somewhere lost within
when it's sad to say
you've been known to get caught up
in the currents of the wind

be this feeble mind
or sound heart
that still wonders?
be this folly of thought
or conviction of love
that still cares?
both sides have an argument
just as strong as the opposed
but i remain
...breathless...
always and forever
