The heart in my eye fades away.
That speck which appeared the same day
I looked in the mirror
I think I love her.
With a blink and a wink it showed a blossom of truth
For I found my love and didn't even hire a sleuth
Cat and dog, I'd bark, she'd purr.

But fate, the trickster, just made it a tease
And had goodbye become our disease
A wound that corrupts and continues to stir
And as memories kept that speck still alive
My tears drown it and fear let it die
I'm tired of being hurt.
