At a time
We were divine
Pure and golden
Like summer shine

We played in grass
And warred in snow
We conquered nations
Sometimes friends
Sometimes foes

We feigned earnest conversations of who we wanted to be
Grand plans in our thoughts and dreams
I wanted to laugh
You wanted to sing

Little did we know
How quickly the clock spins
Little did we know
How thin was our innocence

At a time
We were divine
Pure and golden
Like summer shine

In the present
We are numb
Sad and broken
And summer's gone
