Lighter
I begged the moon for a sweeter escape
a passioned embrace, a brand new shape.
I was released into the wild, naked and anew.
and this is where I found the perfection that is you.
I saved my tears for every breath I could no longer feel,
and you stole my heart with your tongue, softer than steel.
I craved your touch more than life itself,
and I released my emotions I kept bottled on my shelf.
You were the lighter and I the wick,
the heat we made would make someone sick.
I shared the parts of me, once unreachable,
you broke open this vase and made me teachable.
I left my comfort for the pain of love,
and I became that small fragile dove.
