THE DECLARATION
(Bijoylakshmi Das)
I have gathered myriad treasures from the immortal Vast
And 've made amorous flight to the aureate Blue,
Winged with delight in the Sun-clad clasp
To collect resplendence of the Golden hue.
I have made tryst with the Sovereign sitting ashore,
I have kept my Soul in ransom at Infinity's door.

I have bloomed as the most beautiful blossom of the earth-
In the garden of Paradise adorning in my being,
I spread the fragrance and I breathed its odour,
I am the Supreme, I am the King.
I reign over the Creation whole,
I have kept my Soul in ransom at Infinity's door.

I have played with fire of anger invincible,
'Tried to win the kingdom of lust,
For the thirst of a deathless birth and
Not to welter in the wilderness of the ephemeral dust.
I have dived headlong into the sea of dreadful adventure
To make life a meaningful whole,
The Alone sits lone above
My Soul is in ransom at His door.

I have plunged into the depth of unknown Deep
To fathom into the Entity that lurks behind the Self,
I have conquered the entire empire of Ego
At the magnificent One's
sole behest.
I won the battle of life safe and uninjured
I have kept my Soul in ransom atΒ  Infinity's door.

Therefore, I am being reborn to smile
Make mundane living worthwhile,
To make my Being a part of the everlasting Whole;
Oh the indwelling Divine! You are mine,
I have kept my Soul in ransom at Your Infinity's door.
