I’m leaving my home.

My eyes refuse to well up with tears,
Yet it all seems blurry,
The most familiar sight in my life,
Is already fluttering away,
The two trees that greeted me every day,
Have already lost their leaves.

I’ve seen the bright red bricks turn dull,
The soil under my feet turn to concrete,
The toddlers around me turn to adults,
And I turn into who I am.

11 years have never felt so long,
11 years have never felt so short,
They house deep memories,
Yet, they lack something,
They await a proper farewell,
Yet at the same time, fear it too.
My farewell poem, thought I'd share it here
