Take a look into my eyes and you will see,
what dead men see,
what children dream,
what I myself and I alone have endured.
Take a listen to my voice and you will hear,
battle cries from fallen soldiers,
hollow words from broken thoughts,
a haunting melody only I can sing.
Take a glance into my heart and you will feel,
shattering heartbreak,
unimaginable grief,
along with the greatest of heart-warming care.
Peer into my self and you shall experience,
what it’s like to love too much,
to know true uncontrollable fear,
sadly only I know and can hope to know,
these horrors, joys, burdens of myself,
though I suppose it would be nice to have,
someone blind enough to see.
