Dec 2019
man kneels in honor
dubbed a hammer
to the gods
creating his place
in a hum and rattle
tracking times space
to a worthy rival
hanging windows in vigil
hoping to find
a flash in the sky
the fall to fly
lost inside a battle cry
hammer on metal
screams the sound
agony’s pleasure
lost and found
again and over
an echo responds
calling you home
while blinding profound
the cue recurs
impairing the ears
a place to set a crown
willing the able target
to a single shot
a blind round
gripping tight to enamor
quick and quicker
one finger on the trigger
a symbol is named
all ages can be a player
the rules come undone
to beat a new order
dooms impending future
a grinding ax
cast to seize
iron wheels at soaring speed
the meager flicker
a skip of a beat
jumps the track
a chain snaps back
releases a bullet named terror
mayhem competes
within this conflict
lives just past bliss's hitch
tattooed in metals ink
surrendered skin
feels pains true kiss
thunder is envious
with lightnings perfect hit
hammer on metal
as the gods crack their whip
