May 2010
Smells like rain as I wander through thick fog
Always an arms length away from the wall of white
Can't find my way, trapped inside an open maze
I keep walking forward, although I can't feel the ground
My head in the clouds, brushing feathers with fowl
My eyes separate light, like a prism in my pupils
Red crosses yellow, crosses green, crosses blue
Then a flash of orange and I snap to
Lying on the ground with my adrenaline coming down
Like a needle in my heart, I can't gain control
Flashbacks of color cause reality to blur
My limbs are like water, splashing into the ground
Trying to gain the upper hand simply causes chaos
With no one around to help me from this place
I lie in the sky watching the ground roll by
Nothing I can do to stop from being so high
I reach for tress hoping to pull myself down
But at arms length I can only grab white mist
And it smells like rain as I rest in the clouds
