If I had any brains I would just kiss
you already but I'm worried it'll interfere
with the John Lennon faces we drew
in the cold swirl of snow, the night
we had no home but a couple
turkey and banana subs.
We had food for thought with
no place to go, with a vision, hanging,
melted in the black sky, of Alice
finding her own way home
by going under the bricks of the wall
and following the rabbit through.
