Mar 2013
you were still asleep
when I opened my eyes
light, rhythmic breathing
streaks of light showering
your sleeping face
amazing the tricks
sunlight can play in the early morning
you were beautiful there
and beautiful everywhere
and I wish I could have saved
this moment
for a day with no sunlight
or for when that inevitable axe
creeps toward my neck
let me live this moment
forever
your eyes flutter
glance at me
smile softly
and the whole world melts
you place your fingers lightly
between mine
and I shiver
with the morning sun
as it burns brighter in its
celestial bulb
in this moment
everything is ok
