A kaleidoscope lies upon the shores of understanding
Brush away the sand and the salt
Polish the lens
Slight refraction of light descends upon the iris

Yet this lens is incapable of expansion
What was once crystalline remains so forever
The tides lose their motion as the full moon weeps

The purr of a feline encapsulated
yet rapturously denied,
Denied any expression beyond foggy hindsight

A memory gained, or experience lost?
Perhaps when the thought of memory precedes the self
What encumbrance your memory machine is
