Fly
On wings of ash they fly
Until the sun no longer lights the sky
On and on and past the moon
Out in dark they are marooned
A sea of black they sail
Looking back, seeming frail
A tiny unassuming sphere
Past their grudges and their fears
Looking back, seeming small
A dot that used to be their all
Erased by all-consuming night
Past our mother star's light
Forever adrift on endless shores
Alone in space, reliving our horrors
Our dreams, on wings of ash they fly
Towards a sun to again light our skies
