It's where
I made unknowns my own
It's where
I reframed people's mindsets
It's where
Their happiness was mine
It's where
I began a new life
The house where I used to belong

It's where
I used to be sorry even if I was right
It's where
I refused to be in the spotlight
It's where
Floor turned into grounds of cold war
It's where
My name turned into a blame
The house where I used to belong

It's where
I was bound to give away my self respect
It's where
I was in the mouth of suspect
It's where
I turned my back and never came back
It's where
I was forced to leave
The house where I used to belong

It's where
I was never called back
It's where
The door was never left open for me
It's where
I realised I deserved better
It's where
Their address was never again in my letter
It's that house where I used to belong.
