A FIERY STORY

by joseph-sinclair

Once upon a time we were proud We had beliefs convictions targets and desires that encompassed more than our own simple wants. Indeed we abhorred wants. We embraced needs. The needs of others as much as, if not more than, our own. Where have they gone? Who is there now to pick up the mantle? To run with the pennant? To proclaim a universal truth? Who is there in this day and age to plant the seeds of selflessness? To demonstrate humility and love? Where have they gone, the exemplars of yesteryear whose actions matched their words? Who will be left to live happily ever after?
