The shoes of a woman
I attempted to wear the shoes of her
heart
But my feet were too tiny to fit into a
size so great
I was told the true definition of a
woman was greatness
But it was the smell that oozed from
her shoes that told me that
Even the greatest trees
Sometimes do fall
I have never been one to observe
many things but when i took a closer
look,
I noticed that these shoes had holes in
them
It was the ground she walked on,that
testified that only she could wear those
shoes and walk tirelessly as though
they have no holes
I polished these shoes
But it was realisation
Who whispered in my ear
And said
Even if you were to polish them until
they looked new
You would never be able to walk a mile
in her shoes
She is a woman!
This poem was inspired by the superpower we have as women. The fact that a woman can carry any burden and still remain strong and powerful.
