(Out of the shadow)

You have locked your heart away
from tomorrows hope’s and dreams
You now live in your own darkness
and hiding from how the world seems

The safest way you learn to know
from the past that  life has showed you
But eventually it will eat your soul
And take the person you once knew

To trust ourselves is the only way
And don’t let them steal your joy
Always keep your faith to the very end
It will protect you when they try to destroy

The sun will shine again my friend
so you can come out of the shadows
You will see life’s beauty once again
then you will grow just like a rose
