Poems
Aug 2019
when in rome
we mock gladiators for their violence
when
we are still standing in their coliseums
screaming, shouting,
and taunting at the top
of our voices
for the blood to start spilling
for the knives to dig in,
carve out,
and the men to fall
and after all this
we call ourselves civilized
