Jul 2019
you put me to sleep,
wrapped in last words and lies.
kept your cowardice from my eyes.
then i woke up alone,
you had torn me apart,
kept my throat from its scream,
felt too numb for a meaning.

i put you to sleep,
trembling hands held you close,
i loved what loved me,
but you loved me the most.
