From a sky view

deep grey
with hints of purple
-deep lavender-
overcast

two dozen sleepy ducks
making soft noises;
waking
to flee to water

a lagoon
unknown
to human touch

the sky descends
to old trees
with much life
left to live

dark in the distance
foreign sounds emerge
to which the ducks
respond...aggressively

trees tall
leaves untouchable
so close
to the lights resembling
frozen lanterns
twinkling away

a rolling swoosh
on the sidewalk

the distant sounds that nature brings

the twinkling
to landscape
red lights
a walkway

and constant
constant
crickets...
