Not so long ago
Life gave me a smile
Something that kept me hopping for 'different'
Then it took that deserving smile away...
Left me like an orphaned kid
at a front row seat in a funeral...
Watching,
With so many unforgiven apologies
Lost opportunities and worthy regrets
Short but fulfilling
Then too many wishes
Washed out memories
And names
Genuine smiles
And painful tears
Then broken voices
'Please don't go...'
