Secret, I beg you, remain asleep
Tip-toe by you, a stealthy sneak
I don’t want to know, I don’t want to see
What you hid from the world, what you hid from me

Hold me down, I mustn’t proceed
"That was then and this is now"
Repetition is key
To make me forget
of the time before me

But, sadly,

I’m a contradiction, far too weak
I must know, please, just one peek
What do you hold? What surreptitious past do I greet?
What is the truth? Who is he?
I see the videos and photography
Let me in, let me see
Secret, secret, awake for me
This is a poem I wrote after retro-jealousy took over me in my relationship. I saw a photo that made me feel too much and this was its product. I know a lot of people can relate to the icky feeling of this retro-jealousy. Enjoy.
