Ages ago, too many to count
A gift was gladly received
Time had no bearing and my body trudged on
Despite how much I did bleed
I lived through the wars
The trifles of man
Saw many perish as this gift decreed
My tears had run dry
From unfailing eyes
For those who called on death in need
I dream every night I will die as I sleep
And be taken to the clouds high above
For I can't bear another day
When I sadly say
I could not save the ones who I loved
