I see your sad eyes,
Filled with pain, confusion and loss.
Empty, yet searching.
Searching for hope,
Filled with glassy tears,
Because it feels there is none.
I see your soft lips,
Quivering silently.
Trying to hold back
From bursting into tears,
Sobbing uncontrolled.
I see your nose,
Dry and red,
Dead skin from wiping too much,
Trying to control
The hurt you feel every day.
I see your chest heaving,
Up and down, slowly.
I know you are trying to breathe
Take it one day at a time,
One breath at a time.
I see you turned away,
Isolating,
Not wanting to burden,
Just wanting to be in pain,
Alone.
I see your pain,
Through your fake laughter,
And smile
That never reaches your eyes.
Through your determination
To make sure no one knows
The hopelessness,
The self-hatred,
The sadness,
The helplessness
You feel every day.
I see you,
I hear you.
I am here for you.
I wish I can give you a hug.
I wish I can take it all away
