I'm no good at remembering how to breathe
I didn't when you kissed me
I didn't when I was told all men die
I didn't when the beauty of the world revealed itself to me
The air caught in my throat
If not I might have spoken and killed the silence that hangs between words

I'm no good at remembering how to breathe
Just maybe, that's how it should be
Life happens between breaths
