In the darkness I sat
Only form of comfort
was my arms
wrapped around my self
My steady warm breath on my chest
To afraid to reach out
To stubborn
I sat there for awhile
To long for my liking
Time would just pass me by
I could hear out in the light
Out of the darkness
Laughter and happiness
How I craved such a substance
I had grown to my own comfort
Of my self
I forgot what it was like
being in the light
So
Step
By
Step
I removed the bricks from my cave
Brick
By
Brick
As I did
The light streamed in
Like a creature of the night
I crawled out
To venture the light
Never looking back
