Haloes
There’s a twinkle in her eye
That’s rare to see
Rarer still, unless
She’s looking at me.
Looks forbidden
By lines drawn in the sand
By a pretend me
Trying to be a better man.
But my reflection
Is more beautiful in her blue
Haloed in a happiness
Illicit but true.
