Its cold, they say
as the wind caresses their cheeks
dances along their jawbones
and teases the tip of their nose
Its cold, they say
as the snow lightly coats their eyelashes
blanketing their bodies
in a layer of shimmery white
Its cold, I say
as the wind rushes through
drying up my words
freezing the blood in my veins
Its cold, I say
as the snow dissolves my skin
blanketing my heart
hiding the warmth within
