I yearn for the day
when my eyes will smile
in unison with
my lips
when I welcome those stares
of alien eyes
to hunt me
when I open the door of isolation
for you to finally
meet me

I yearn for the day
when I'll be enough
for your gaze to trace
me in sharpie
when I won't be scared
to crash my lips
onto yours

I yearn for the day
when I won't always
have to speak my mind
to be heard
when I won't have to escape
to the outer reaches of the box
for an idea
when I can lean my head back
and for once
be blinded with stars
